Suspension of Senior Club Activities in Los Herreras

The municipal administration of Los Herreras suspended activities at the Senior Citizens' Club and kept the El Piporro Museum closed, decisions that affect a significant part of the population without prior notice or alternatives. According to reports from neighbors and affected citizens, the Senior Citizens' Club stopped providing meals that they had committed to offer to the vulnerable population of that locality. The Secretary of Equality and Inclusion, Martha Herrera, had participated in the inauguration of this space, intended for the physical rehabilitation of seniors, which also had areas for expansion and renewal to serve more than 500 elderly individuals.

Amid this situation, the user expressed her dissatisfaction with the lack of timely information regarding the suspension of activities at the Senior Citizens' Club, which took place in December and left the people who went there for therapies and food services unattended. Regarding the El Piporro Museum, inaugurated in September 2024 to preserve the legacy of the renowned Mexican actor, it currently remains closed and underutilized since November. Despite the significant investment made by the previous administration for its remodeling, the cultural venue is inaccessible to the public.

Additionally, it was reported that the municipal Treasury has not proceeded with the collection of property taxes corresponding to the year 2025, a vital source of income for the municipality. Although the collection of this tax usually starts at the beginning of the year, payments have ceased to be accepted at the Municipal Palace, as well as providing taxpayers with the necessary documentation regarding the property in question, the amount to pay, and possible late fees. This situation generates uncertainty among citizens, who expect a prompt solution from local authorities.
